My heart aches

Well, I am back from Michigan. The trip out there was pretty trying. The flight from Sioux Falls to Mpls was 2 hours late so we nearly missed our flight from Mpls to Kalamazoo. We were about 2 seconds from missing it! Once we got there it was nice. Randi and Travis had a few trying times during the closing of new house. They got it done on Tuesday though. The movers came on Wednesday with all of their things. It took them 6 hours to unload the semi that they had everything on. Randi and I unloaded some of the boxes to find essentials - towels, toilet paper, dishes, etc. Thursday we unloaded a bunch more boxes then we went for a sight seeing drive to see Battle Creek. Thursday night I spent a lot of time with the Logan and Lauren. I gave them a bath and read to Lauren. I couldn't help crying through the whole thing. Lauren kept saying "don't be sad Grandma. I will call you and make you pictures and things." I didn't sleep much that night. Then it was up early and off to the airport for the flight home. I cried all the way home. It was very, very hard for me. My heart aches. . . . . . . . . I am so glad Denver lives pretty close. At least we can see him almost whenever we want to.

  1. Oh Lorie, My heart aches for you just reading this, I'm crying now, can't imagine what you are feeling or going thru!!! Just know that they are together again as a family and that's got to be good for the kids--little consulation, but even tho we love them as Grandkids, that's no replacement for Mom & Dad, together!!! Course that's easy for me to say, (my Grandkids live 15 minutes away), I feel for you, and I hope that knowing that Randi & Travis are great parents will comfort you.
